Jakarta Ramadan Festival Set to Bolster Local Economy

The Jakarta Ramadan Festival 2026 has officially commenced and is set to run through March 31, 2026. The event is expected to open wider doors for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to market their products during the holy month.

To serve as an economic accelerator for the community

Jakarta Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, and MSMEs Agency (PPKUKM) Head, Elisabeth Ratu Rante Allo stated that the festival is a collaborative effort between the Jakarta government, business players, and shopping mall management.

In partnership with various shopping centers, the festival will also feature the "Jakarta Festive Wonder" and the "Ramadan and Eid Clearance Sale," scheduled from February 27 to March 31, 2026.

Ratu explained that these two programs aim to offer massive shopping discounts across various malls in Jakarta, serving as a stimulus to ramp up domestic consumption and drive the retail trade sector.

She further emphasized that this series of events serves as a crucial momentum to maintain the stability of the regional economy throughout the Ramadan period.

“Through this festival, there will be concrete collaboration to ensure that the public has access to essential goods at affordable prices, while simultaneously providing a wider platform for MSMEs to boost their sales,” she said, Monday (3/2).

She hoped that the festival would not only create a vibrant and inclusive Ramadan atmosphere but also make a tangible contribution to strengthening the trade ecosystem, keeping regional inflation in check, and improving the overall welfare of Jakarta residents.

"Through this partnership, we expect the Jakarta Ramadan Festival 2026 to serve as an economic accelerator for the community in the run-up to Idulfitri," she added.

As part of the festival lineup, the department will also host Low-Cost Markets (Pasar Murah) and Ramadan Bazaars from March 2 to 13, 2026. These events are set to take place across 44 sub-districts and at the Jakarta City Hall.

"Through this program, we aim to ensure that the public continues to have access to staple goods at affordable prices. At the same time, we are creating promotional avenues and boosting revenue for MSMEs," she emphasized.
